Mechanical Equipment Inside The Pool Water is drawn from the pool at 2 points, The Skimmer, and the Main Drain. The Surface Skimmer One or more skimmers are included in your pool. The skimmer is located on the wall of the pool, at the water line. It will draw in surface water accompanied by any floating dirt, leaves, oil or other debris. The debris collects in a basket, located inside the skimmer. Connected to the filtration system, skimmers help to keep the water's surface clean and minimize the amount of debris that gets into the main body of the pool water. The Main Drain Main drains remove objects suspended in the main body of water or that fall to the bottom of the pool. The main drain is located on the floor of the pool, usually at the deepest point. Water Return The water returns to the pool through 2 or 3 fittings located on the pool wall. The return fittings are located in several different locations to insure the water circulates properly.
